The itinerary traverses some of the country’s most celebrated regions, including Fairy Meadows and Nanga Parbat, the enchanting Hunza Valley, the high-altitude Khunjerab Pass, and the lush green valleys of Kaghan and Shogran.

The tour offers an exceptional opportunity to witness Pakistan’s extraordinary geographical diversity. Itinerary

Depart Islamabad early and drive through Haripur and Mansera to join the Karakoram Highway at Thakot. We would visit the Ashoka rock inscriptions along the way. The Karakoram Highway marvel of modern engineering and it is being reconstructed jointly by the Army and our Chinese brothers. From Thakot to Khunjerab, the Karakoram Highway winds over 700 kms through breath-taking mountain terrain. Shortly after Thakot we will stop to view the Army monument before arriving at our lunch stop in Besham. We continue on the fabled Shahrah-e-Resham towards Chilas. Spectacular scenery is our companion and we will cross the sites of two important under construction dams at Dassu and Diamar-Basha. At Chilas there are world famous petroglyphs (rock carvings) left by Buddhist Monks on their way to China. Overnight at the hotel (driving time approximately 12-14 hours).

We leave Chilas and shortly thereafter at Raikot Bridge (almost 75 minutes away), we board jeeps to take us on the steep and winding track towards Fairy Meadows. After 2 hours jeep drive to Tato, we begin our hike to Fairy Meadows. Tato to Fairy Meadow is approximately a 6 KM distance and 700 meter ascent, requiring 2-3 hours hiking through a beautiful pine forest. You can make a tea stop on the way to Fairy Meadows at a quaint stop called Midway Chai Khana. For those who find the hike challenging, horses/donkeys can be hired for the journey. Arrive Fairy Meadows and overnight stay in a tented camp.

Spending the day in Fairy Meadows, there is plenty of time for a trek through the forested foothills of Nanga Parbat to the base camp and back. This is not too strenuous, as one follows the contours of the land. A picnic lunch in the shadow of this great mountain is surely a sight to remember.

Today start early in the morning at 6 am to walk down to Tato, where Jeeps will be waiting to take you down to Raikot Bridge, where our air-conditioned vehicle is available to enable you to continue the drive to Gilgit. In the afternoon we will visit the Kargah Nullah, where there is an ancient rock carving of Buddha, as well as visit the bazaar filled with Chinese goods. If we are lucky, we may witness a local polo match.
