Your adventure begins with a comfortable morning departure from Islamabad.
Travel north via the Motorway or Grand Trunk Road before entering the beautiful Swat Valley through the historic Malakand Pass, a gateway that has witnessed centuries of trade, culture, and history.
Passing through Takht-i-Bahi, Dargai, Chakdara, Butkhela, and Saidu Sharif, arrive in Mingora, the commercial heart of Swat.
After checking into your hotel and enjoying a short rest, visit the lively Mingora Bazaar, famous for traditional handicrafts, gemstones, embroidered shawls, and the emeralds for which Swat is renowned.
Later, continue to the historic White Palace of Marghazar, an elegant marble palace built in the early twentieth century and once used to host visiting dignitaries and royalty.
Return to your hotel for the evening.
Overnight: Mingora / Saidu Sharif
Following breakfast, journey deeper into the spectacular upper Swat Valley towards Kalam, one of Pakistan’s most picturesque mountain towns.
En route, stop at the charming riverside town of Madyan, famous for its trout fishing, fruit orchards, and scenic views along the Swat River.
Continue to Bahrain, a beautiful mountain town celebrated for its traditional wooden handicrafts, riverside cafés, and vibrant local culture.
Arrive in Kalam, situated at approximately 2,070 metres above sea level and surrounded by dense pine forests, snow-covered peaks, and the magnificent Hindu Kush Mountains.
Spend the evening relaxing in the cool mountain air.
Overnight: Kalam
After breakfast, board local 4×4 vehicles for an exciting excursion into the spectacular Ushu Valley.
Travel through dense alpine forests alongside the crystal-clear Ushu River while enjoying magnificent views of Mount Falak Sar (5,918 metres), the highest peak in Swat Valley.
Weather and road conditions permitting, continue towards the breathtaking Mahodand Lake, one of northern Pakistan’s most beautiful alpine lakes, surrounded by glaciers, wildflowers, and towering mountains.
Return to Kalam in the afternoon before driving south to Malam Jabba, Pakistan’s premier mountain resort.
Overnight: Malam Jabba
Today is dedicated to enjoying the beauty and adventure of Malam Jabba, one of Pakistan’s most popular hill resorts.
Ride the scenic chairlift to enjoy panoramic views of the Swat Valley and the distant Karakoram Mountains.
Adventure lovers may enjoy optional activities such as the famous zipline, while those seeking relaxation can explore forest walking trails and mountain viewpoints.
A short walk also leads to the remains of an ancient Buddhist Stupa and Monastery, reflecting Swat’s rich Gandhara heritage.
Later in the afternoon, drive back to Mingora or Saidu Sharif.

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Islamabad.
Before leaving Swat, visit the renowned Swat Museum, home to one of Pakistan’s finest collections of Gandhara Buddhist art and archaeological treasures.
Continue to the nearby Butkara Stupa and Monastery, one of the oldest and most important Buddhist archaeological sites in the region.
Following the visit, continue your comfortable drive back to Islamabad, bringing home unforgettable memories of Swat Valley’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and mountain hospitality.
